Yes for ordinary learner driving lessons. Home, work or Mordialloc station all work. Once the drive test is the goal it is different: at fifteen minutes each way, pickup takes half of a 60 minute driving lesson. For drive test preparation we would rather meet you at Heatherton VicRoads, or you can book a 90 minute driving lesson and keep the travel out of your preparation.

Eventually, and not at the start. A first driving lesson stays in the streets behind Main Street. When you are ready we use the Nepean Highway service roads first, which give you the road without the through traffic, and then the highway itself.

It is, and that is exactly why it is useful once you have the basics. Angle parking, delivery vehicles and people stepping out between cars make Main Street a lesson in reading ahead rather than a lesson in steering. We take you there when the car has stopped taking all of your attention.

Yes. The work around McDonald Street and Bear Street has changed how the streets near the station connect to each other. We drive the current layout with you rather than assume it matches what you remember, which is useful whether you are learning for the first time or coming back to it after a while.

Only in a practical way, but it is worth knowing. There are a limited number of crossings of the creek, so getting from the Waterways side across to the shops or the station funnels through them. It makes a real difference to how we plan a driving lesson that starts at your door.

It is a genuinely good one. You have quiet residential streets, service roads that work as a halfway step, a shopping strip and two arterials, all inside a couple of kilometres. Very few suburbs give you that range without having to drive somewhere else first.

Sometimes, and for a specific reason. The roads out that way are wide and quiet outside business hours, which makes them useful for practising manoeuvres. We would not build a whole driving lesson around them, but they earn their place as a warm up before the busier roads.

Yes, and it is the arrangement we would suggest from Mordialloc. The driving lesson runs immediately before the drive test on the roads the testing officers use, so you finish it warmed up rather than starting cold after a fifteen minute drive. It is also the best price we offer.

What we work on is the Victorian road rules and the local habits: giving way at unmarked intersections, joining from a service road, keeping left, and the speed changes along Nepean Highway. Yes, and it is one of the things Mordialloc does well. The residential streets behind Main Street have ordinary kerbside parking without heavy traffic, which is what reverse parallel parking needs to begin with. The newer streets around Waterways are wider again if you would rather build up to it. Both are minutes from the shops, so a driving lesson can practise parking and then go and use it on Main Street the same hour.
