Yes. Home, work or the village all work, and at nine minutes the travel is easily managed. For drive test preparation we would still suggest meeting at Geelong VicRoads so the full hour goes on the roads around the office.

They ask more of you early and that is an advantage by test day. Highton runs up into the Barrabool Hills, so pulling away on a grade, controlling speed downhill and parking on a slant are all sorted in the first few driving lessons instead of being put off. The sightlines from up there are long, which gives you time while you learn it.

It is the main road through Highton and the natural step up. Bends and gradients arrive together on it, so turns have to be set up before the corner rather than partway through, which is a genuinely useful habit to build.

The strip on Belle Vue Avenue is good practice once the basics are in place. Kerbside parking, cars pulling out and people crossing between them, at a scale that is manageable rather than overwhelming.
