Yes, for ordinary driving lessons. Home, work or the Vines Road shops all work. For drive test preparation we would suggest meeting at Geelong VicRoads instead, or booking a 90 minute driving lesson, because at 14 minutes each way the travel takes around half of a 60 minute booking.

They ask more of you early and that pays off. The ground falls away towards the city and the bay, so pulling away on a grade, controlling speed downhill and parking on a slant all come in the first few driving lessons rather than being put off. By the time you reach the flatter roads around Geelong VicRoads, that part is already settled.

The residential streets off the Vines Road shops. They are quiet, the sightlines are long from up on the rise, and the slope means gradient control gets practised from the start without anyone having to look for a hill.

On the flatter residential streets first, so the manoeuvre is solid before a slope is added to it. Parking on a grade is common here and worth practising deliberately, because test day is a poor time to meet it for the first time.
