Yes, and at around 11 minutes it is perfectly practical for ordinary driving lessons. For drive test preparation we would suggest meeting at Geelong VicRoads instead, or booking a 90 minute driving lesson, so a third of the hour does not go on the trip.

It is the most important road to be taught on here. The highway carries traffic between Geelong and the coast, so it is noticeably busier in summer and at weekends than on a quiet weekday, and it asks for lane discipline, gap selection and turns planned well ahead. Meeting it with a driving instructor beside you is a much better introduction than doing it alone.

The residential streets away from the highway. The newer estate streets are wide with long sightlines and suit the very first driving lessons, and the older streets closer to Belmont bring kerbside parking and tighter corners once you are ready for them.

The rules are identical and the conditions are a little kinder. Traffic is lighter than a Melbourne suburb, distances to the testing office are shorter and there is more room to practise. What Geelong does have is a busy city centre and a highway to the coast, so there is no shortage of real driving to prepare you.

Yes. Grovedale station is a common meeting point for driving lessons, along with home and work. It suits anyone travelling in for a driving lesson rather than starting from a Grovedale address. For drive test preparation we would still suggest Geelong VicRoads instead.

Automatic. Driving lessons in Grovedale are in a small dual-control automatic, and that is also the car you would sit the Geelong VicRoads drive test in if your package includes it. An automatic licence covers you for automatic cars, which is what most people drive now. If you specifically need manual, tell us when you book and we will give you an honest answer on whether we can cover it.
