Yes, and the distance makes it a non-issue either way. For drive test preparation we still suggest meeting at Geelong VicRoads, not to save travel time but because the hour then starts on the roads around the office.

The suburb itself is small and industrial, so there is not a great deal of ordinary residential traffic in it. What makes it excellent is the office being three minutes away, which means driving lessons spend almost all their time on the roads that matter.

Into South Geelong, Newtown and Belmont for the most part, because that is where the parked cars, intersections and everyday traffic are. Being this close to the office means we get there in the first few minutes of a lesson rather than the last.

They are useful practice once your basics are solid. Trucks making wide turns and vehicles pulling out of entrances teach you to leave room and read what another driver is about to do.

Mostly in South Geelong and Belmont, where cars are parked along both sides of ordinary residential streets. Breakwater itself has few such streets, and real gaps between real cars are what the manoeuvre needs.

Automatic is what most learners book, and driving lessons run in a small dual-control automatic. Manual can be requested on the booking form, subject to whether a manual driving instructor is covering Breakwater at the time.
