In the residential streets either side of Glengala Road. They are quiet, laid out simply and carry almost nothing but local traffic, which is what a first driving lesson needs. There are a great many of them, so you never have to drive anywhere to find a good one.

They are one of the better things about learning here. Judging who goes first without a signal is a skill a suburb full of traffic lights never really teaches, and Sunshine West gives you plenty of practice at speeds low enough to think it through properly.

Yes, once the basics are steady. It runs through the middle of the suburb and carries most of the local traffic, with proper intersections to judge, so it is the natural step up from the quiet streets either side of it.

They are, and we introduce them deliberately once you are ready. The industrial land to the south brings heavy vehicles that take wider lines through corners and need far more room to stop than a car does. Learning to read that properly makes you safer on every road afterwards.

It is a genuinely good one to start in. A large quiet residential grid, a great many unmarked intersections to learn on and one busy road through the middle, with industrial traffic nearby when you are ready for it. The fourteen minutes to the testing office is the part that needs planning.

The residential streets have ordinary kerbside parking with very little passing traffic, which is where reverse parallel parking should start. The local shops give you the busier version, with people about and someone occasionally waiting behind you.
