Both come in later and both are worth the wait. They are multi-lane and busy for most of the day, so they teach gap selection, lane discipline and turning right across traffic properly. They are also the closest local preparation for the roads around either testing office.

It does, and we plan around it rather than pretend otherwise. Monash adjoins the southern edge of Notting Hill, so during semester the roads nearby are considerably busier at particular hours. That is useful practice once you are ready and unhelpful before then, so the timing is deliberate.

It is one of the better starting points in the east and an awkward one to finish from. The estate and business park roads are close to perfect for a beginner. The twenty minutes to either testing office means the last few driving lessons need planning, and we book those to start at the office.

The residential streets have ordinary kerbside parking with light traffic, which is where reverse parallel parking should start. The business park has line marked bays and almost nobody in them outside business hours, which is the easiest possible introduction to bay parking, and the hardware superstore car park is the version with people waiting.
