About 9.4 kilometres, or roughly 15 minutes in ordinary traffic heading north. Hadfield is compact enough that where you start inside it barely changes that.

Yes, for ordinary driving lessons. Home, work or a nearby station all work. For drive test preparation we would suggest meeting at Coolaroo VicRoads instead, or booking a 90 minute driving lesson, because at 15 minutes each way the travel takes about half of a 60 minute booking.

Sydney Road runs along the eastern edge of Hadfield with kerbside parking outside the shops and people crossing between parked cars. None of it is difficult once you have been shown where to position the car.

It is a better start than most of the inner north, for a simple reason: the busy roads are on the boundaries rather than through the middle. You get quiet streets for the early driving lessons and a genuinely demanding arterial a block away when you are ready for it, without a long drive between the two.
