Teaching On Official Vicroads Testing Routes - Gain The Advantage
Compare Melbourne Driving Schools

With Alex Driving School you can expect the following:

Meeting at Vicroads Is Best

It's best to meet your driving instructor at your local Vicroads in order to conduct the driving classes on official Vicroads testing routes (We have a higher driving test pass rate this way). Learning the testing routes and test format gives you a massive advantage to passing the driving test. Each testing route takes around 45 – 60 minutes to complete during a driving lesson to clarify student mistakes (whether you are a learner driver of overseas driver). Picking up and dropping off from your home/location may take up to 15 minutes each way leaving us with insufficient time to complete a full official Vicroads testing route within that training session. If you cannot make it to Vicroads you may consider:

Our prices are the same for all driving lessons in Melbourne including tests regardless of pick up point.

Overseas Driver? Use Auto Car for Driving Test

Are you an overseas driver with a current, valid, full overseas licence? If so your overseas licence conversion tests should be conducted in automatic car as it’s much easier to pass the driving test and we have a much higher success rate this way. Once you pass the test you will be issued a full Victorian driver licence and allowed to drive a manual car. We encourage all overseas licence holders to do the test in auto and most of them do. More information about overseas drivers.

Our Car by Law

All lessons including the test must be done in our driving instructor’s car by law as our cars are dual control. Our instructors cannot use your car.

Licence Guarantee Gimmick

Licence Guaranteed/Retest Free is a gimmick. Some Melbourne driving schools claim they guarantee your licence. No-one can guarantee your drivers licence as you are being tested by an independent Vicroads testing officer and unless you fulfil your driving requirement you will not be granted a Victorian Driver Licence. In any case these companies have fine print stating they will not guarantee/retest free if during your driving test you have made an "immediate termination error (immediate fail)" or fail through making multiple "critical errors (fail)". Almost ALL drive test fails actually happen in this way. In many cases they impose additional requirements making it virtually impossible to meet the driving school’s “Retest Free” criteria. Clients who are unfamiliar with the industry believe they will receive a retest free in the case they fail the test but they will not. This type of conduct is misleading and unfair to clients and it is not how we do business.
